This. So much this.

I would like that to be changed in the PWA so that the MIL credit counts towards the trigger. It seems like a basic USSERA requirement to me.

Ready for incoming in 3...2...1...

*Incoming* company might ask to deduct all your extra ioe and sim lessons and reimbursement to hire another regional guy to cover your mil leave. Might be a wash.

Well....the guard/reserves isnt without financial reward.

Both short and long term.

So its a relative value choice individuals make.

I like to think of my military leave as your military leave too.

I don't care much either way he was joking and looking for someone to come at him. But im here to bring the funny.
I like to think of your thrift savings plan and tricare as "ours" too. Maybe you could sign some papers and make the government see it that way too.

About the GS trigger I was serious.

I also know that people like to be contrarian on the inter webs so I knew somebody would have something negative to say on the idea.

TSP doesn’t do much. The pension is where it’s at and that’s definitely one of those long term gains that can make it worth while. Tricare Reserve is decent, but I’m the first to say that the DPMP should flat out be better.

My final thought, MIL leave as it stands right now is just OK. There are many many other employers that contract with the Government that treat their mil members much better (pay gap coverage, paid drill days, etc.) some are even other airlines. I’m not suggesting for one second that the union needs to use negotiating capital to fix it and the pros of working at Delta far outweigh the cons. I’m simply stating that there are some things that Delta could do to make it better and that there are some big name companies (Delta wants to be the best place to work for everyone right?) that already go above and beyond the law to make it happen.

Looks like you forgot to “bring the funny.”

I dont know what would be involved in amending that trigger for the negotions, but im for it. Theres a few consequences affecting staffing but i dont feel bad for the company, we're short on some equipment. This morning is another example at least on my fleet.

I dont mind using negotiating capital to get rid of the trigger. I just thought you were getting rowdy and i wanted to join
