Better to ask for forgiveness than permission. I generally board when not C+ somewhere around there.

That being said, I relate with LA to Vegas so much when back there. "You people are animals!!"

LOL there's nothing to "work out" as it used to be that way (officially or unofficially, doesn't matter) until the Memo King of the North made us bend the knee.

During every boarding process, on every Delta flight, the agent calls for people who need “extra time” to board. Again, if you don’t need “extra time” to board, I suggest you reevaluate your boarding technique.

You're assuming that's some kind of right/loophole we can declare and it won't be questioned. You're still at the mercy of the agent, who totally and completely outranks the entirety of flt ops. Some may allow it, others will not. The more we collectively try this, the more pushback there will be. Only putting it in the CBA (or at least policy for now) will solve the issue. If you regularly use that method successfully, its only because the vast majority don't even try.

What is with hot planes, every type? To heck with fuel savings with 90-100 degree tarmac temps. Run packs and jetway air simultaneously, if starting engines at gate, leave jetway air on, no single engine taxi, keep throttles up if stopped on taxiway for a long length of time, close sunshades, open ALL vents in back. I’m tired of sweating my nuts off of DH’s due to koolaid fuel saving pilots.

I agree it absolutely needs to be in the PWA. I disagree that an agent that had an issue with you needing extra time is a legitimate impediment to you boarding when that group is called. If you get an agent that can’t see eye-to-eye with early boarding making the most sense for preserving the integrity of the schedule, then let them check your bag and let them deal with the fallout. Maybe that’s what it will take to fix the issue.

I believe this has mentioned before, but wanted to put it all in one spot just incase it is not.
That's how it worked at Brand X pre-merger as well as I recall. In fact, I think you could board as soon as you got there, regardless of how many of the required crew were onboard. Worked well.

Delta’s policy is to do exactly what you say. Passenger comfort comes ahead of fuel savings. Why would you call a pilot not following company policy a koolaid drinker. Should it not be the other way around?

Because said pilot cares more about his profit sharing check and saving the company money then he does the passengers fanning themselves with Sky magazine. He/she has made the conscious decision to let pax sweat it out a bit for their own selfish reasons. And i commute so i see it regularly.
