Delta Consolidates Regional Carriers to 3

Update on DeltaNet. Skywest, Endeavor and Republic will be remaining DCI Carriers. Skywest is non union and has a fantastic balance sheet, Endeavor owned by Delta, and Republic partially owned by Delta as a result of RAH bankruptcy proceedings.

Not to mention SkyWest usually does a good job. Getting rid of Compass is an awesome thing.

I thought Compass did a good job too. Fewer regionals should help system wide reliability though as the remaining ones will be better able to recover from IROPS and other things.

This will eliminate the flow-down provision in the PWA which was nice to know would be available if Delta furloughed.

My experience with them over the last couple of years has been pretty terrible. I cringe when I see "operated by sky west" and it's a CRJ-200 because unless its 10 and clear at the destination you aren't getting on as a jumpseater. A lot of maintenance issues too - they have some old birds.

Nothing but great experiences with compass though. I hope we give those guys and gals preferential hiring if they don't get flying with another carrier.

SkyWest has done a good job of destroying the union airlines they acquire, that’s for sure.

I remember after the Comair strike the strategy was to diversify so that no regional dominates any single hub.

It looks like we're coming full circle.

The strike threat has been almost completely removed, and the A220 will probably mitigate any other risk of flying loss. Endeavor can't strike due to the Bridge agreement, SkyWest is non-union, and RAH is too small.

Just like Delta did with Comair and ASA pilots. 🙄

Plus they shift around flying and flight numbers so much it would be tough to track “struck work” if a regional did strike.
