One report suggests it was on a remote spot at JFK as opposed to “stranded on the tarmac.” And pax were offered bus ride to the terminal if the wanted to bail, snacks and water if they waited it out. I was in FLL that night, saw the MIA late news on the incident. Pax claimed 8 hours without escape opportunities before T/O and zero hydration or nourishment offered. The truth might lay in the middle somewhere, but I’ll be dumbfounded if it comes out that the crew and Delta as a whole violated DOT on this one. And I will be unsurprised if it comes out that any negativity aside from the obvious too-long travel day was anything more than social media hysteria.

He "fixed it" basically implying that because the orginal news story was from the NY Post, it was BS...I was simply showing him that all the major news outlets were carrying the same 8 hour headline, whether it was right or wrong.
