Delta buys 20% of Latam

I could see taking some or all of the 4 planes before approval. It just depends on the terms of the deal. When is the next 365 AE? That would be a logical time for additional 350 seats, due to the cascading training requirements it creates.

That's not happening. We need the 777 for ATL-JNB and JFK-BOM. There is less credit time using ATL crews vs LAX crews for JFK-BOM, so you know the logical outcome there. Just be glad we don't codeshare with Virgin Australia. That would be the death of the LAX 777 base.

Thanks for the corrections. I was reading an outdated article...
Virgin Australia isn't a member of any of the 'Big Three' airline alliance families of Star Alliance, Oneworld or SkyTeam.

If our contract lets Delta put LAX-SYD in a combined Pacific bucket with Japan and Korea we may lose that city pair. Our recent loss in arbitration over Japan/Korea scope has me worried.

I thought the next AE was for staffing summer 2020. Are you saying we will get them in the fall or later??

If Delta were to exit the JV, and straight-codeshare with VS, that’s a whole other animal.

Article from simpleflying.com left it unclear: ...”Delta Air Lines has 25 Airbus A350-900s ordered, with 13 of these delivered and operational. Meanwhile, LATAM also has 25 A350’s ordered. This consists of 17 A350-900s, and 8 A350-1000s. Of these orders, twelve -900s have been delivered, while seven are operational.”
