You might have a slightly different opinion the next time you are bumped as a non-rev because the flight is payload optimized.

We only compare ourselves to them when they have something better. UPS was for a good part of their history working under very crappy contracts. We never mentioned them.

Yeah. I remember those years. So what you池e saying is that corporate pilots and RJ pilots, under your same argument should be paid and compensated the same as a 350 driver then... right? Cause it痴 only gas we are talking about. Right?

Lol, well that was when most of us newhires were still in high school and I try to not live in the past. But if you want to go there then you need to bring up the fact that their contracts weren't all that great because both companies were still in their infancy whereas we had been around for decades prior.
I compare us to AAL/UAL/SWA/FDX/UPS because currently that's where all my pilot peers fly or aspire to fly. They are also the most competitive in the industry wrt pilots. I have buddies in the project management world and they compare themselves to all their peers whether they work in the tech industry or the medical industry...why would we be any different?
It's only natural to look at the best of everything our peers have. You can point out the good things they have and still understand that you have to keep an eye on the whole picture, wrt the contract.
