Actually.... you are correct. I don't think that was ever the intent, but the book is indeed written that way. However I've never once seen a guy ditch the jacket in the wintertime just because two legs of a four day trip throughout the cold country happened to to pass thru NAS.

I ditched the jacket to do a walk around in snow in Seattle and Narita because my trip went to Singapore. I’ve gone entire years without wearing it because the trip has touched Hawaii, Singapore, Manila, or somewhere else down there. I’m in the majority as the entire crew was doing the same thing. The bubble you live in is rather small

The catch is you’re not allowed to wear your bus driver jacket, ski coat, leather jacket ect.. with the uniform. I have seen some pilots looking pretty ridiculous freezing their butts off just to avoid the coat.

The FOM clearly states you don’t have to wear the jacket for any rotation that has a leg into the discussed destinations so there is no issue ditching the coat for the entire rotation.
The catch is you’re not allowed to wear your bus driver jacket, ski coat, leather jacket ect.. with the uniform. I have seen some pilots looking pretty ridiculous freezing their butts off just to avoid the coat.
