That's good if it works, at least until they catch on.

Some places it can take a while for them to catch on.

And don't cancel it, change it to the next day and come back. And then change it, and come back, etc., etc., etc.

Update. Can’t buy $400 GC with 8 $50 GCs. 2018 I used the $200 credit to buy single day sky club passes and gave them as a gift, but they’ve discontinued the single day passes. In flight snacks and baggage fees are all this credit is good for. The Chase sapphire reserve doesn’t discriminate....$200 in “travel related charges” automatically get credited.

I’ve heard of people getting the ritz Carlton Carlton rewards card and then some sort of deal where they link their room to their Marriott bonvoy # and ritz care and then charge something to the room to get points for the stay. I never believed friends that told me about it, but for no reason other than I didn’t discover this theoretical loop hole. Is this real?

Ritz-Carlton is owned by Marriott. If you have the Ritz-Carlton card any charges using the card, room or otherwise, will get you Marriott points. The card is no longer available to new applicants.

Another gift card hack: a couple years ago my wife wanted fancy new cookware for Christmas. Bed Bath & Beyond was where she wanted to get it because she had a big coupon.
(I have a habit to calling things by different names to mess with her. Bed Bath & Beyond is Best Buy & Beyond. Drives her crazy, which is why I continue to do it!)
She went into Kroger to buy gift cards on our 2.5% cash back card and get a veritable crap ton of fuel points. Walked out with $1500 in Best Buy gift card. Neither of was was happy, jokes on me now, right?
Well, it was until we realized Best Buy sells gift cards. So I got $1500 with of Bed Bath & Beyond gift cards from Best Buy. And because I bought over $1000 in gift cards from Best Buy, I was given a free $75 gift card from them!
We still laugh about it.
For the super couponing copper wire inventors among us, might want took into that hack if you still have shopping to do this Christmas.

Gift card rolling is a great tactic but many stores are clamping down on it. Target and eBay are two I know of who have changed their policies within the last year or so. Make sure you research before trying again because it’s easy to get burned.

Long time Amex user here. Looking to update my lounge jacket. Would the Delta zip up jacket sold by Crew Outfitters be too ambitious?

I think that would show up as a Crew Outfitters and not Delta, so it wouldn't be reimbursed if that's what you are asking.

I’m sorry I should have phrased this better...An acceptable jacket to wear in the sky lounge? Or since it says Delta on it it might be a little too ambitious....
