That was an opening for a really good joke, but I won’t go there.

That being said, sounds like they want to get them online ASAP and not go through the long refurbish.
That explains all the AEs we have been seeing for A350 pilots.

Given that the timeline for the additional trash pandas is late next year, it explains why there haven’t been bids for it... yet.

to TAILHHOOKAH...the thread is not clear...you say the 4 x 350 coming in 2020..are these new or used? when you say= all flown south...what do you mean ? they will be based in GRU or MIA??. much confusion here ya all!! DL currently has 13 x a350-900 and 2 are currently in the assembly line in LFBO ship serial # 395 and 404 reg F-wzga, and F-wzno scheduled to be flown from LFBO to KATL in march or april. the remaining 10 from the original 25 are currently on hold.

Ship #14&#15 are being delivered in Delta config first 1/2 next year. That’s the final 2 on firm order of 15. 10 more options deferred for 5-6 years or so...

4 coming soon (per rumor) from LATAM which currently are being sub-leased and flown by Qatar. Those are coming without being cabin refreshed and matched to the other 15 A350’s we have or are coming. It seems they want to get these on the line soon. 2 planes per rout to SA. SA=South America.

As far as the LATAM deal...there is more to the story. I heard LATAM approached DL to make this deal not DL approached LATAM. Latam has commitments for 14 A350-1000 for which they NOW have buyers remorse and cannot really afford. I am almost sure DL does not really want those either. latam is the merger of lan chile plus TAM Brazil... the 350 program is a tam deal as they have a330's and a320's. LAN is a boeing customer heavy on 767/777 and 787. then TAM (now latam ) also have 9 x A350-900's of which 4 are dry leased to quatar. so it appears that latam MAY or may not want dl to take over the 5 operating a350-900's...but it is the highest paying jet, so I am sure the tam pilots will not give them up that easily. by the way most of those are serial # 24-48 built in 2016.

Yeah... ok. Sounds like you knew the answer but asked anyways. You may want to watch the latest askEd. He talks about it as well. I never said I knew the truth... but rather a rumor. Stop sniffing the glue bro.

As far as where we will fly the four from where to where, email Ed. Miami? No feed. I’m guessing routes south from big Delta hubs. A350’s are big and need lots of feed.
