Who is a Deadzoner?

I would like to know everyones opinion on who is actually a deadzoner? What are the parameters that would put one in the deadzone....... Obviously age is one factor but could hire date be included or some other factor? Investment horizon?

I'm definitely NOT trying to start a war here. I'm just really curious about peoples opinions.

Not trying to start a war here either but...

Somebody who under invested and over borrowed. These are the pilots truly panicked. Not the other definitions you will hear.

Pilots on the seniority list. Just like everyone else.

I’m trying to stay far from all of this until a proposal is available in full for us to look at and actually debate, but based on all the discussion I think this is a very valid question.

Lines will have to be drawn and some will make the cut and some will not. So, how do you define the group that gets vs the group that doesn’t? I’m honestly curious as well.

Hey, I started a thread at Thanksgiving posting what I was thankful for and asking that question of others............with less than 2 pages it was closed by a moderator in less than two hours (and rightly so).

Nothing would surprise me.

In my opinion that would be any Delta South pilot who had 10+ years vested in the pension prior to plan termination. Just my opinion...standing by for incoming...

Not incoming but would you qualify than with an age? Example: Someone hired at age 30 with 10 years vested in DB with a 25 year timeline to invest after the BK?

Honestly, you have to ask the people who identify as dead zoners. All I know is I am not. I think you’ve said you are so there’s probably a seniority range and how far below you it goes is anyone’s guess. But I’m sure it includes a lot of people who have already retired.
