Which Plane to Bid For?

Was wondering if any of you would mind offering your opinion on which plane to bid as a new hire(737, Bus, 717). Hoping to get Detroit as soon as I can and wondering about the quality of trips and available GS flying.

Many thanks!

if you want DTW I would do 717, 320, 737 in that order. Lots of green slips on the 717 can’t speak for the other 2 airframes

717. Then again, with current movement, it’s not going to take long to get to DTW on any of them.

I’d suggest 717, 73N, 320 order for best seniority the fastest. 717 will almost certainly lead to better seniority the soonest, but 73N/320 have better pay from year 2 and likely better trip quality. The 320 to 330 career path is very popular now given our aircraft order book, but that seems to be skewing the 320 more and more senior. I tend to prefer the contraction path for better seniority, but YMMV.

A320. Airbus has the most technologically advanced aircraft the 80s would allow.

717 hands down to get to DTW the fastest and build seniority fastest. I've flown with New Hires on property 4 months that were 50% seniority in NYC[emoji23]

If the goal were to get to ATL would you all suggest the same order?

You'll get it quickly either way, but put M88 at the front of the list.

Rumor of a possible future ATL A220 base because they're having trouble getting enough LCA at other bases. Wonder how crazy senior that would go?

there's no flying out of ATL on the 220, except 1 SLC flight.

You ever heard of deadheading in a center seat? You’ll love it!

And there’s only 28 of 95 airframes so far as well...

Network will probably make flying for it if an ATL base for LCA is necessary. You do make a good point with lack of ATL flights. One would think DTW is a more efficient choice for base if LCP recruitment is an issue. That's probably the best commuter base in the world.

what in Atlanta is not senior?

Actually look at 320A, 88A, 73A and look at 40-70%. That would be the most of the seniority range, with outliers high and low.
