Default Yup.

At this point, shutting the remainder of the system down is not that big of a step.

Sounds like they're back up and running. Call off the National Guard and put away the pitchforks.

Honest question we were talking about yesterday on the way home from AUA:

Why are Centers, and Towers shutting down hard for COVID exposure and having guys getting hit with it harder than front line employees?

At most airports, the ATC guys aren't even exposed to GenPop on their way in or out. Doubly so for most TRACON and ARTCCs.

You'd think at the rate it's affecting ATC, we'd have FAs and Gate Agents dropping like flies from this. And pilots as well

If just one person shows up to a TRACON infected, they have the ability to get almost the entire staff sick. Figure 1/3rd to 1/2 of the work force is in the building at any given time, especially during shift change. Small cadre in a small building/confined space. It could easily shut down the operation which is much worse than if a handful of us getting sick. They're probably not taking any chances and when someone comes down with signs, they probably shut it down to disinfect the entire place.

For pilots...keep your hands of the hand rails and face, don't shake hands, keep your distance from others and we're really only worried about the other pilots. FAs have it way worse than us, so stay away from them too lol.

It was only down for 20 minutes. We’ll see plenty more localized things like this over the next couple of weeks.

Got stuck on a crew van with 11 of us and driver last night. Total BS. 3 to a bench for 30 minute ride with FA coughing. Driver was picking up crew that was late and added to ours. Not doing it again. They can wait for next van or Im getting out and calling Uber. Then expense it to company. It’s bs that the social distancing doesn’t apply to us.
