New testing in the coming weeks will also help. I read an article saying that in addition to significantly increasing the speed of testing, scientists are also developing tests to detect antigens to see who has already been exposed to (and recovered from) the virus. Being able to differentiate who has it, who’s had it, and who hasn’t been exposed at all will be huge in helping get society back on its feet, as we’ll be able to better protect those at higher risk and those who haven’t been exposed.

But what if the drop in new cases is only due to social distancing/everything being closed. If we open everything back up too early and the cases start to increase we will just have to repeat this all over again causing more harm to the economy. We can't simply wait for cases to drop, we need to wait for testing kits to be widespread, a small army of people across the country to administer the tests, medical supplies need to be stockpiled at hospitals, and more ventilators need to be made. The logistics of this all are the limiting factor, not the rate of new cases.

this is interesting and I hope it’s correct... I don’t have data to back it... but a Cleveland clinic modeling scenario in Ohio showed a Mid may peak with thousands more deaths and cases. Also has been stated that these computer modeling projections tend to look at worst case scenario

Just saw that China reversed their decision to open up theatres. No official reason given, but I suspect it's to prevent a second wave.

Trump just said at his press briefing today that the peak will be in 2 weeks. I don’t think Dr Fauci agrees with that assessment. Flip a coin at this point.

You mean flip a coin on whether the truth teller gets fired? I'm not inclined to give Trump and a top-tier physician equal weight on medical pandemic opinions. I'll defer to Trump's expertise on bankruptcy though.

[QUOTE=BobZ;3016446]Hmm. Are you having beers with him or something?[/QUOTE
Umm it’s his daily briefing on all the major networks right now. Dr. Birx followed up by saying modeling shows the peak in two weeks for the US as well. Having beers with the President would be cool....but hacking some weeds with him on the golf course would be a lot cooler.

No coin flipping required. There will be many peaks in many different areas and it will come back. Not completely over until there is a vaccine in 12-18 months or so.
