I think Delta secured quite a bit of funding already, and maybe thinks they can scrape by without the government loans or be able to secure money elsewhere under more favorable terms (certainly a gamble though).

No, but they might allow one or two. Besides a airline going under does not mean the aircraft go away. Airlines come and go, aircraft just change colors.
As far as loans they are taking them and have already closed on money in the open market. I think they feel they can get better terms there since I suspect we are pulling our cash burn down faster than our competitors can. That should put us in a position to rebound faster.

Everyone needs to take what Ed says pro or con vs. labor w/ a grain of salt. It’s what I expect him to say. It’s why we are where we are... in a better position than many. Ed is going to come after the pilots w/ as much as he can get. WE need to realize this and that it’s just business and fight for everything we have. Drown out the other voices and let’s not worry about what they say. WE worry about ourselves. WE fight for pilots. Ed will do his job (and has to date) to run this company. WE (and our MEC) need to stay unified, strong and unwavering about our lot. WE understand better than most and also know what WE gave up, still haven’t regained and what WE have to lose.

WE need strength. Unity. The resolve to complete this. WE have the most to lose.

So far our MEC has done a good job and I stand behind what they’ve done.

There’s a very good reason most pilots — especially senior ones — are cynical and skeptical.

I agree we should all work together to save the company. SIL’s seem like a good start, at least to the rest of the industry.

If AA and UA end up taking loans I don't see how Delta management is going to avoid them. AA/UA can get another $5 billion in liquidity. How are we going to compete with that no matter what concessions the company gets.
