Training pay

With sims cancelled through end of the month, is recurrent training pay guaranteed? The one time I’ve previously missed recurrent, I was paid anyway. This time it has dropped off my time card.

I don't think it is because they have extended the bidding window one day due to the cancellations.

Its April training that is cancelled, no affect on May.

Gotcha....then yes, you should be pay protected.

Abouttime2fish 04-10-2020 10:36 AM

Thanks I’ll keep an eye on it!

If you’re reg, not reserve.

Training called me and said my April 14th training will be delayed until June. Slim chance for a May.

Any PWA reference for this? I searched but could not find one.

If you are correct, my pay goes back down to ALV -2 for my category, but not less than 72. Is that right?

You’ll get a specially created reserve line to fill the space. You’ll be paid no less than you were awarded.

PWA 11. B. 1. d&e

Thats how I read it anyways, but I’m no expert.

If I'm not mistaken, 11.B.1. appears to apply to Qualification Training, not Continuing Qualification Training (CQ). They are two separately defined items in 11.A.5. and 11.A.25.

Good catch. I’ve got no idea then.

I asked scheds about this while I had them on the phone for a different issue. They didn’t know, said call training. I was done holding on phone lines so I sent training an email.

DALPA supposedly has an email coming out about it. If you’re on reserve, then you lose the pay and go back to whatever your guarantee would have been without CQ on your schedule.

I’m reg this month, probably for the last time on the mighty Maddog.

I’ll add that to my list of things to fix in the next contract. Now I’m stuck bidding around another 12-hour 3 day trip in June and I have nothing to show for it.
