MD off 7ERA DTW. Thinking of DTW 330 and 737
So I'm debating what I want to bid and would normally look at previous Bid Packs to see trip info, but of course you can only look back one month and that is useless. Another issue is in the May of 2021 Forecast Staffing just put out shows ONLY 38 DTW 330 Captain positions!!! If thats right, it doesn't bode well for that category future. I'm senior (1100) but that worries me.
So now I'm thinking 737 in DTW. Wondering what trips will be like. Lots of transcons hopefully. What about carribean, Hawaii? Don't mind one leg West coast redeyes.
Finally, how about commuting to ATL or JFK? Thinking of 76-400 or staying on ER at one of those bases. I've been warned about commuting to JFK, mainly because of the virus(it could flareup for many months I think) and think any commute out of DTW could be tough. DTW lost HUNDREDS of positions in this bid 350,. ER, 330 and i think there will be a ton of guys commuting.
Thanks for any inputs!!!

But MSP is a frozen wasteland and is a horrible commute! The trips out of SEA are much better than MSP, and longer leg lengths to Europe means better productivity on the days you work. Long legs to Asia as well! SEA330A is the place to be!!
