Be interested to see where the people polled live. NYC going to get a different result than here in coastal N.C.

Why do advertisers run ads? Why do they run the same ad over and over and over? Because they know that if you tell people something again and again and again, you change their thinking. So, the news media from fox to MSNBC have been running 24/7 coverage of the CV19 PANDEMIC!!. So while I believe the majority appear to want to "go slow" it is because that is what the media has told them to think. Do you honestly believe that John Q public looks at the numbers or data like what Phins posted re CDC and NYC. I certainly don't see it on the major news channels. I also don't see the % of deaths from elderly care facilities in hard hit areas like NYC/NJ, hmmm.

Flatten the curve? Posh. my wife mentioned deaths among children, I asked her where she got the info. "News", she replied. So I showed her the NYC number about deaths in the 0-17 age group. Didn't even register on the bar graph per 100,000

The point is, while you are correct about people and planes, it could turn quickly if it were not so politicized. 95%of media is all about "orange man bad", not reporting facts. The results are reflected in the polling.

OBTW....when you are giving prolly 50% of the populace free money, they are more than willing to keep it on a slow roll. You have already "bought" their polling data especially when you promise them 3 Trillion more

BTW...Where is my free money? Go to the mailbox anxiously ever day looking for my check.....effing rats, must be stealing my free cheese.

Came to Charleston SC for the weekend. Homewood Suites is COMPLETELY FULL for the weekend. Some restaurants allowing seating inside. Feels good, like we may turn the corner.

N.C. going to ‘phase 2’ at 5pm today. Figure that ruins any chance of boating this weekend! But maybe we can go out to eat!

Here's why people won't travel.

WA state is currently under "shelter in place orders."

Unless you're an "essential business".

Is your business "essential"? Well, just check in with the state governor page...(if you're not on it, don't worry, you can apply for a variance, because the government is still open!. Might take a few weeks though, unless your business trades on the NYSE, in which case, we're sorry we missed you on the "essential" list the first time.)

But that's just PHASE ONE! ...plenty of rules to follow, but we're just getting started!

Yes, once your county reports less than 10 cases per 100,000 persons over a 14 day span...you can apply for...

PHASE TWO!

This means lots of pages of new regulations to be in compliance with, for severely restricted business opening. Not open enough to do anything except lose money, of course. (You'll be taxed though, you can be sure of that).

PHASE THREE (more of same)

PHASE FOUR (It don't matter, because now you're in Mad Max Ville, but with RULES. Lots and lots of rules.)

See a rule breaker out there? Well, the state government page has a very helpful form where you can autonomously TURN IN YOUR NEIGHBORS for suspected rule violations! You're a HERO.

Etc...Who on earth would want to travel to Washington State like this? Seriously. It not just that everything is closed; you're likely to be pulled over by the police just for driving/walking down the road/sidewalk.

Airline demand to markets like LAX, NYC, SEA are TOAST until all this goes away.

But don’t discount the amount of air travel wanted to get people out of these totalitarian regime states....
