DPMP is actually the most expensive plan premium-wise so it's cheaper to cover the people on the HSA tiers.

Working from the place of covering a health plan premium, wouldn't it be best to allow the pilot to find the best plan based on fit and go from there?

We have the health insurance exchanges now, as well as income-sensitive subsidies. For newly out of work pilots, these might (depending on situation) provide a useful tool, which would then lower the overall burden on the pilot group for whatever generosity they might offer.

I think also the early out program if it comes will be nothing better than AA. Why would anyone take that? Unless in your last yr and you don’t want the airbus. Senior guys get 18 days off a month or more, Full vacation plus 270 sick a yr. full 401k. Plus occasional PD. why in your right mind would you take 50 hr early out with no guarantees! I will not vote for anything anymore that’s takes money or way of life out of my or your pocket. Been here to long and suffered thru a lot to get to the end.
Did you lose your job? Everyone took about a 50% pay cut who stayed on property. Why would you have been helped out by your fellow pilots? Everyone was in the same boat.

Losing a job in this economy is a completely different story. I’d vote yes on any help we could give a furloughed fellow pilot.

There’s no guarantees in life. Do what you think is best. I’ll vote NO. Don’t think fo a minute the paycuts aren’t next!

Agreed, If we can't do this, who are we?

Not only this, but back then unemployment wasn't blowing by 20% on its way to historic levels. If I remain on the payroll I'd gladly give up 2% to help those involuntarily furloughed for 6-12 months. My gut tells me it is the right thing to do, and I believe it would pay dividends showing solidarity and controlling the narrative with the company and other labor groups. It would also go a long way toward litigating leverage in the event we wind up in court.

Yeah. Using the current crisis to re-litigate last decade’s crisis tells me everything I need to know.

I haven’t forgotten the medical premiums covered by DALPA On by behalf when I was furloughed in the mid-90s under Ron Allen’s hostage program. Major help. Would vote to cover these for all furloughees now.
