Flying stuff
I don’t know, thought we might need a place to talk about doing that pilot ******.
|
Why? Is anybody actually doing that right now? :)
|
So, the TSA numbers have finally broken the 16%-of-last-year number for a couple of days.
Out of boredom (since I'm not currently doing that pilot ***** right now:)), I plugged in the raw numbers since 4/14 (the low point) and calculated the %-of-last-year; the raw number and % trend are fairly consistent positive in both cases. It's not nearly the steep recovery trend that I'd personally like to see, but it is moving in the right direction. Looking for something positive, so you can keep your 'it's ONLY 16%' gloom and doom to yourself, thanks. |
I’ll have CQ the end of July, right before likely converting to UNA. I’ll do it with the same professionalism as always, but finding the motivation may be more difficult.

I understand others when they say they never forget being furloughed (likely outcome from UNA) and how they never forget it.
Being furloughed is gut wrenching enough but 10 years of bankruptcy contracts is financially much more damaging than 2 years of furlough. Not minimizing the furlough, just gotta avoid BK, not only at Delta but also AA and UAL due to pattern bargaining |

Um, why? Do you think our management would balk for even a microsecond at the idea of doing the management equivalent of calling in sick the day before CQ?

Same principle involved with bankruptcy, 8 more years of BK contracts, losing the DB that was accrued etc.

I see what you’re saying, but...I don’t know. It’s not something I’d likely do. Plus, a little extra dough, ya know?
1. extra couple of hours pay before any unknown change in status. 2. you stay current and qualified for a bit longer. (not fooling myself into thinking unicorns and rainbows, but you never know the pace of un-UNA-ing) 3. you get to get out of the house for a while. (Ok, VA ave is NOT the vacation hot-spot I'd choose, but it is out of the house) 4. you keep your head up despite the $h7# sandwich this career is currently handing you. I hope you find the motivation. |
