So you point to something someone said, then make no attempt to say that you don’t share that opinion but I’m supposed to just assume that you don’t?

I’ve never met an AA pilot in real life that I didn’t like. I wish all of you the best. If I met you in person I’m sure I’d like you. You’re really bad at arguing in writing, and that’s okay.

I submit the vast majority of pilots at all the big 3, SWA, JB, etc are good dudes/dudettes, none of which want to see anyone in turmoil, much less fail. Every bunch has its outliers we just don’t claim in at the bar. I don’t judge any pilot group (or MWS in a previous life) by the one jackwagon that spouted off, and I hope people don’t actually judge us based off that one a-hole to took the van that one time, denied you the Jumpseat, or didn’t wave back in the concourse.

I can get along with just about anyone for a time, certainly for a trip. I can count on one hand the number of dudes I just can’t. And they all earned it several times over.

I agree with everything you said, and I think almost all of us are very similar people. But I can also see how guys from AA are chiming in on this speculation that their airline is in worse shape, and that they’re a couple of missed payments from going Tango Uniform. We all have our careers completely invested in our employer and it’s only natural to get defensive when others are talking doom and gloom about your livelihood. I don’t think it’s meant to be hurtful, or that anyone is hoping some other airline goes under. These times are very stressful for all of us and some just need to feel a little more secure by making sure that they aren’t the actual canary in the coal mine.

In other words, by saying AA has more debt, they’ll fail before we do, Makes them feel safe for now. I’m not saying it’s right, and I’m not talking numbers at all, just the psychology of it all. I haven’t met anyone who actually hopes another airline fails, and we all understand that we are all in the same floundering boat. We will get through this.

I hope we all make it through this, as minimally scathed as possible.

I am not one of “those guys” but I get a little frustrated when guys from other airlines give Delta pilots a hard time about wind checks, or the light chop BS. Or the double breasted van admiral comment....how stupid is that, but there are 1 or 2 or 10 guys out there and some guys just love to hate. Luckily for all of us, there are very few of them.
