1) Chinese are great at copying things, such as procedures, instructions, etc. But merely copying doesn't mean understanding why such protocols are in place, or the ramifications of not following said protocols. Maybe an intern took a shortcut in biowaste disposal. Maybe an entrepreneurial janitor saw some ferrets or pangolins that he could sell on the market.
2) Esteemed virologist, doctors, etc. may feel "above the law." This is not unique to Chinese culture, but probably amplified by their hierarchical society. "I don't need to follow these stupid, cumbersome procedures; they are below me and are for little people to follow." So maybe said esteemed virologist or CCP bigwig just does what he wants to do in the lab, and nobody is brave enough to correct him.
I do believe the Wuhan lab was doing some type of gain-of-function experiments...successfully. These are just my best guesses as to how it escaped a BSL-4 lab.

Absolutely. The problem is the masks haven't stopped people from shoving too much food down their pie hole. The reduced activity and increased alcohol consumption tied to restrictions on daily activity are making people fatter. Why isn't the MSM highlighting the dangers of obesity and promoting healthy lifestyles?

I suspect one of two scenarios as the most probable:

A 96% match was found in a bat in 2013. This is a peer reviewed publication not a tweet.
The right ire to have is that live bats with a history of producing viruses were sold in a market to meet Chinese medicine and culture at the expense of public safety.

This is a point the finger talking point that isn't based on reality. There's no evidence this came from the BSL-4 lab, and no credible source says it was bioengineered.

The nature article authors postulate that SARS-CoV-2 naturally diverted from its bat reservoir in approximately 1948 and has been, "circulating unnoticed in bats for decades." They state the long divergence period indicates that there are unsampled in-between lineages in the horseshoe bat population that might (or should) have the same or similar RBD (Receptor-Binding Domain) residues as that of SARS-CoV-2.
Dr. Li-Meng's team postulates that Dr. Shi's group, in 2008, successfully swapped SARS RBM (Receptor-Binding Motif) into bat coronaviruses and that, after years of gain-of-function research, was able to develop a spike protein, and the RBM inside of it, with an extremely high affinity for the human ACE2.

Imagine if, after a deadly accident we, as an industry, just needed to move on. Without accountability, causal factors or safety recommendations...without truth, how could we refocus on getting safety?

Imagine if the NTSB ran accident investigations by censoring information that didn’t support the narrative; or only permitted information approved by special interests... Imagine allowing the manufacturer to limit what information could be examined; or restrict access to or destroy evidence of how the equipment was designed and manufactured.
