I came from a regional with a very toxic relationship with management. I was one of those guys that would do the bare minimum while at work to get the job done and would have never gone the extra mile unless it benefitted me or my crew.
When I was hired at Delta I was glad that I was at a company that valued the hard work I do and was glad I could put all that anger at management behind me and be able to do what I could for the benefit of the company.
With being one of the potential furloughs and seeing how JL, RG and even Ed have behaved themselves during this that goodwill I had lasted all of 10 months.
It's going to be a long 25 years at this place I guess.

Too bad they had to create adversaries of the bottom third of the list, that will be with them for decades. Onus is on them to regain the trust.

Just watched yesterday's town hall After saying they won't consider pilot paid leaves because no one else in the company is getting them, did you see the looks on their faces when the question came up as to whether they would offer paid leaves to the whole company (ala SWA)? It was like the question was in Chinese or Pig Latin. After a quick look around, RG did his standard "that's ridiculous" smirk and said "No." JL actually made her repeat the question, it was so bizarre to him, asking her "Company wide paid leaves???" His response was "I know of no such thing." Almost as if he doesn't even realize other airlines are doing this. #DeltaFamily

I am fully on the do my job as minimum as possible train. No interaction with customers, no hurry to get off a gate on time, nothing. Show up, do my required items and go home. I also understand there is an aspect to our interaction has an impact on our customers. I really hate they have put us in this situation. No one predicts an event like this, but how it is dealt with was fully in their control and each step of the way has been a calculated move to undermine us and our union. There is simply no way to deny they have gone this route intentionally. I believe furloughs would be necessary even with all cost cutting measures but they are not being used as a last resort. That statement is a blatant lie.

The Company will do what it has to do to survive. At the worst they will take the money and run. At the best you will have a job at Christmas, these people don't screw around, they will cut your throat in a heartbeat. Live with it.

Yeah but Ed's woke.
You're not alone. When there's no agent until 20 minutes before departure, the airplane hasn't been cleaned despite having sat for 15 hours, you've got to add fuel every leg because dispatchers are under pressure to reduce block fuel and the rampers don't check in on time... one man's valliant efforts don't do squat. I think the whole machine is seizing.

As JL shoots another email across the bow that the VEOP results will "not avoid pilot furloughs" and offers ALV reductions as the only way to save jobs, SWA announces that over 12,500 of their employees will receive PAID LEAVES (up to 5 years) to mitigate their current staffing issues. That compares to ZERO Delta employees that have been offered a temporary paid leave to help the company navigate the next 1-5 years.
