I came from a regional with a very toxic relationship with management. I was one of those guys that would do the bare minimum while at work to get the job done and would have never gone the extra mile unless it benefitted me or my crew.

When I was hired at Delta I was glad that I was at a company that valued the hard work I do and was glad I could put all that anger at management behind me and be able to do what I could for the benefit of the company.

With being one of the potential furloughs and seeing how JL, RG and even Ed have behaved themselves during this that goodwill I had lasted all of 10 months.

It's going to be a long 25 years at this place I guess.

You're not alone in those thoughts. Hang in there, we'll make it work and get where we need to go.

Too bad they had to create adversaries of the bottom third of the list, that will be with them for decades. Onus is on them to regain the trust.

Just watched yesterday's town hall After saying they won't consider pilot paid leaves because no one else in the company is getting them, did you see the looks on their faces when the question came up as to whether they would offer paid leaves to the whole company (ala SWA)? It was like the question was in Chinese or Pig Latin. After a quick look around, RG did his standard "that's ridiculous" smirk and said "No." JL actually made her repeat the question, it was so bizarre to him, asking her "Company wide paid leaves???" His response was "I know of no such thing." Almost as if he doesn't even realize other airlines are doing this. #DeltaFamily

Its not just the bottom third. I wish we could do a DALPA vote of no confidence for JL. I try not to read these boards to often because it gets my blood pressure up and left the actual news to emails from DALPA and flight ops. After reading the last email I may have to unsubscribe from flight ops emails.

I am fully on the do my job as minimum as possible train. No interaction with customers, no hurry to get off a gate on time, nothing. Show up, do my required items and go home. I also understand there is an aspect to our interaction has an impact on our customers. I really hate they have put us in this situation. No one predicts an event like this, but how it is dealt with was fully in their control and each step of the way has been a calculated move to undermine us and our union. There is simply no way to deny they have gone this route intentionally. I believe furloughs would be necessary even with all cost cutting measures but they are not being used as a last resort. That statement is a blatant lie.

The Company will do what it has to do to survive. At the worst they will take the money and run. At the best you will have a job at Christmas, these people don't screw around, they will cut your throat in a heartbeat. Live with it.

I think the whole machine is seizing.

That compares to ZERO Delta employees that have been offered a temporary paid leave to help the company navigate the next 1-5 years.
As a 50 y/o that has been at DAL for 5 years, and one that has never considered working until 65, I'd take 12-60 months, preferably 24-48 months in a heartbeat.
