Of course if you could overfly above the ALV plus 15 it might economically harm the more senior UNA pilot
I too believe everyone understands the furloughs, when they happen, will be in inverse seniority order and regardless of if you are UNA or not 1 Oct.

If one were to stay a UNAcorn, yes it would be a better deal to sit at home and get paid until they figure out a way to put you into a sim. However in reality, no one from this AE is going to convert prior to 1 Oct, so the point is moo, we all just get furloughed on 1 Oct.

This.

How difficult is it to explain that, even though you see a reinstatement, if you are part of the 1,941 you are not "saved."

Same spear to ALPA. Did the union review the AE? I kind of expect the company to just ... well, just run it and publish it, while I expect the union to do some interpretation.

Both the company and union failed the "reinstated" 1,941 in my opinion.

As a UNA that has been saved for now (not part of the 1941), I was confused when after the AE results were posted, I was not on the list. Initially there was no explanation as to why those that were slated to be furloughed were awarded reinstatement and I was not reinstated or awarded a new position. I remain UNA. My bid was in and I checked the box. Nonetheless, I was awarded nothing. That was very confusing to say the least. My day supposedly comes in OCT/NOV. A quick heads up prior to the publishing the results would have been helpful.

I agree, however I also don't understand why any of the 1941 wouldn't just go ahead and put in an AE/reinstatement bid anyways. Heck, even if you just checked the reinstatement box and did nothing else that's still better than nothing. Yes, the company said we'd be excluded, but they can't lock you out of AE bidding in icrew and given the extreme unpredictability of the company over the past 6 months to me it just made sense to have something sitting there just in case. Took all of 3 minutes of my life to do.

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but I have been trying to find out what are the latest booking projections for the next 12 months.
Last town hall I watched was several weeks ago and indicated that the company was hoping for 50% of pre covid bookings by XMAS 2020 and between 60 and 80% for summer 2021.
is that still true?

Might hinder getting a base and force you to commute on a subsequent bid, is that the rub? Also aren't UNA's getting ALV or are they only getting 50 hrs at lowest paying eqpt?

It certainly won't affect the order of furloughs since that will be straight inverse seniority(whether you hold a BES or are UNA....so that's not it
Just making an educated guess here, but for any among the 600 “saved” UNAs that weren’t awarded reinstatement, it’s probably more about commuting and/or pay. Some may have come off the ER, or another category paying more than 717 pay. Or perhaps they were in a base other than NYC (like ATL 717 or SLC 220). If I were in their shoes, I’d happily give up an extra month or two of UNA if it meant being reinstated in a category that I’d want to be in (higher pay and/or no commute) for the next 2-3 years while this mess sorts itself out. As it stands now, those UNAs not awarded a reinstatement and not being furloughed will likely get a NB to NYC assigned in Oct.

I leave a bid in both my I crew AE and displacement bid ....or at least I thought I did. I went back and checked and my preferences were blank and the saw the word "deleted". Wish I had the screen shot. When the company runs bids do they purge the system? I swear that is the first Ive seen that... but I havent been here super long nor am I an expert.

If I am a dope I guess I must own it.

I believe bids are deleted when you are awarded something new. In my case, my bid was deleted after I was “awarded” UNA.
