Non Rev BS

Tried to non rev today with the wife to Ok City thru MSP or ATL. Based on TravelNet, we thought we had a great chance. 8 Aurhorized. Get to the gate, after checking 2 bags. Watching it on my phone, see 7 or 8 unassigned seats. Long story short, only 1 seat left and I send the wife. I wait for next 2 flights to no avail, go home after 4 hours at airport. Gave up on the trip.
Major issues with:
-TravelNet numbers even more worthless than B4
-60% max in coaxh/comfort is only for Noneevs!!
-Aurhorozed numbers are based on 67% WTF!!!
-Agent waited to clear NRevs til 8 min b4 departure

How can you plan travel when the numbers on Travelnet don't reflect what is really happening News? Do you have to do the math for 60% of revenue paxs???

GogglesPisano 09-25-2020 03:51 PM

The Rona can obviously tell the difference between a revenue pax and a nonrev.

Just like the turbulence gods with the last row of seats last year.

Jumpseats booked?

Cogf16 09-25-2020 03:59 PM

VEOP, no JS😟😟😟

EDVPLT 09-25-2020 04:03 PM

It's bullcrap but it changes October 1st. 75% of the cabin will be allowed to be full but still all middle seats blocked unless you are a party sitting together. So if a family moves to sit next to each other any open isle or window seat is available for all nonrevs.

Sorry to hear that Cog. As EDV indicated should be better on or after 1 Oct as the seating goes to 75%.

Thanks for taking the VEOP. Most appreciated. And when I do get to the left seat, hit me up, I'll get you on my plane.

Yes it's a total crapshoot if under 15 authorized.

Gate agents have a chart and have to manually count seats I think. Adds a large burden on them to stay under 60/65% and it may be easier to just play it safe and keep a few nonrevs in the gate area when there’s doubt or a time crunch. At least it’s Covid-safe though.

Well thank goodness for that 1% or this thing might get out of control. You should just play it safe and not nonrev. Stay safer at home. Never go outside.

Well think when someone does an audit on the APIS system and realizes "over by one percent?!? Quick call the media!" and Delta air lines spends two weeks apologizing on every news station in america.

Also that guy might have been sarcastic with that post the more i read it.

Airline tickets are beyond cheap at the moment. I have bought tickets and it’s kind of fun. You can pound your fist on the ticket counter and demand to know why the flight is late! If I have to be there I buy at the moment.

I had a full fare 1st class ticket the other day, at the end of the flight two of the F/A's commented what a good little passenger I was. Previous training I suppose.
