I admire Sailing’s perseverance, despite all the negativity and vitriol he keeps doing his thing. He may not always be 100% correct but I’d much rather read his stuff than the typical wailing wall malcontent’s dirge.

Keep berating and making fun of positive posters and this place will go the way of ChitChat and the FB forums. But maybe that’s what you want, after all misery loves company. But not the kompany.
Get out of my echo chamber!!!

Is the union allowed to pull this thing down in its entirety if we collectively decide down the road? Are there any portions that are permanent if this goes ahead? Thanks

i believe the only thing the union cannot pull down is the Mil leave portion, which the company could be doing even without the unions permission

That's a lot of things, positive messaging isnt one of them.

Meanwhile, people on here say, it's getting better, we trust the union, even if we get furloughed it wont be for long, delta will be back to making money soon.

I'm not an objective observer, so I can't be trusted. But for my money, I'm not buying Sailings doom. We all get to choose what to buy into and there's plenty of both here.
So it’s ok to question the company all the time but not the union? Based on past personal behavior (and that’s just at official MEC functions) and what many current and formers Reps post on SM, you should be skeptical in your own union as well.

Sure. Compared to many pilots here at Delta I'm probably a union apologist. With that said I've been openly critical and hostile at one of our MEC groups at a prior company.

Im fine with the current direction, to me this is simple. Hold the line, thing will get better economically, then we can get back on track. If we settled close to where sailing is writing in his fan fiction I could see a future where I'd cheer for that deal. But that wasnt offered. And if we offered only that the company would still have had to goto self help to realize how dumb their bargaining position was. Bargaining is a process. We havent even started in earnest.

Haven't you been reading this thread? Voting yes to voluntary measures for pilots to be less productive means cashing in 68 units of bargaining capital (trying to use metrics, here). We have to stick it to the Qompany because then they will come back with better stuff.
