You're right. Trump Inc. flouts evading taxes. And another poster brought up the point of under-utilization of aircraft to avoid taxes and the hidden costs involved in that practice. I've always thought Delta is one of the best run airlines and they think outside the box (a la the oil refinery --- maybe doesn't all work out). I just thought it was an interesting article that I'd be curious to know if I worked for Delta, and more-so if I flew the Bus.

I don’t know about you, but when I sign-in for trips I’ve never been told by corporate why they are using a specific airframe for a particular flight.

That said, I find this article interesting. Not that we evaded the tariffs, but that Jet Blue and AA didn’t.

And regardless of your political affiliation, we can all agree that no one likes to actually pay taxes. If the loopholes are there, people/companies will exploit them. It pays to hire/retain a smart finance department.

But Delta is being reimbursed by China right? Or is Mexico paying? It's all very confusing....

Its easy to lost track of all this. China is reimbursing Delta for the upcoming order of COMAC aircraft and Mexico is paying for the wall that will keep the other airlines from stealing the game changing technology.

Tax avoidance = legal multi-billion $$$$ business employing Millions of accountants/lawyers/lobbyists/ all over the country. You can follow the law and pay 0$ in taxes on billions of profits..... just ask Amazon or any expanding company.

Tax evasion = Crime that could/will get you first an audit and eventually an indictment.
