This is a done deal. Buying cheap metal is in our DNA. The C-Series and 350 purchases were outliers.

The C-Series was dirt cheap as well.

What’s the theory - trading out the 717s for MAX? How many MAX do you think? 100? 200 copies? Hope they don’t install the ultra-small lavs like they did at AA:

i think AA did that to help squeeze 12 extra seats on the same size plane. I don’t think that would be our MO.

my guess is we will eventually replace the lift flown by 738/320/MD90 with the 73M8. Probably 200-250 or so eventually. Coupled with 321/21N and 221/223 I think this will be what our NB fleet looks like going forward. Probably 200-300 or so of each of the 3 AC types

The A350 was (relatively) cheap too. The program was struggling to gain traction against the 777x series.

What do they say about luck? Preparation meets opportunity?

You think AA has some bad searing on their MAX, check out Ryanair in Europe and their “hellacious” seating on their new MAX airplanes:

If you can call that seating. “Hellacious” is the new class. First-Premium-Economy Plus- Economy-Basic Economy-Hellacious

Anyone else notice what, to me, looks like a partial Delta Widget on the tail of one of the hangar birds, at the 00:52 second point?

(I tried to attach a screenshot... No Joy.)

It’s definitely a Delta 737 but it’s also just stock footage. A KLM and LOT tail are also visible.

I saw something resembling the triangle widget but it was on the fuselage. When looking close it appears to be an object sitting on top of a cabinet. Also saw something like Delta red/blue on a two rudders. The far one looks like Air Canada the near one I’m not sure but definitely not us. I have a screenshot too but doesn’t appear to be a way to attach here.

I never though we’d have the Max but I can see it being tempting now. Looks like a potential replacement for old 320/738 and to lesser degree 717. I read something the other day quoting Bastian about it. With how we’ve loaded up on da ‘bus in recent years I always thought I’d finish my career in one. Never got the chance as I took the VEOP but I was looking forward to it.
