Denny, I warned you about what my UPS friend said about the layover. Sounds like he was right!

I’d be curious as well, if you’ve got an extra second to PM me. All the PVG trips was one reason I bid an MBL for December.

GS question, I noticed a GS #2 that I should have been offered and wasn't. I called CS and they agreed I was skipped but said they were in an IROP and didn't have time to further research it now but would get to it next week. Fine, I understand. But, the scheduler said only the most senior pilot skipped is eligible for lost pay.

I looked in the PWA (23.Q.12.c) and I didn't see where only the most senior pilot would be paid. Also, how can they say the most senior pilot would have actually ack/accepted it and on down the line? It seems like if you are skipped there's no way to know you wouldn't have gotten it? Or am I missing some other PWA reference somewhere? Thanks guys.

12. Crew Scheduling may correct errors and omissions in a same-day or next-day GS or
GSWC award(s) following the award of the rotation and ending two hours prior to report.
a. Such corrections will not generate a rotation guarantee for the rotation removed.
b. If there was another rotation that the pilot would have been awarded in the absence of
the error or omission, the pilot will:
1) be awarded such rotation, or
2) receive single pay, no credit for no less than the scheduled value of the rotation he
should have been awarded (made whole).
c. A pilot who is not awarded a rotation because of an error or omission by Crew
Scheduling will receive pay, no credit for no less than the rotation he should have
been awarded (made whole).

It's right there in C - "A pilot who is not awarded.." because pilots were skipped over and not contacted, it's assumed that the most senior pilot with a GS request in and bypassed would have taken it - had he/she had the opportunity.

Has anyone had luck swapping a same length trip with open time when coverage is black? I'm trying to swap a 3 day for another 3 day that operates the same days but has a different report and release (not after midnight) than the original trip when coverage is 25 required and 8 available. I know I've done this in the past but the computer won't allow it. There are no conflicts and the rules auditor says OK. Did some thing change in the contract or procedurally with Delta in the last few years?

It should always process the swap. Two things.

1. Are you sure that the trip you are trying to swap for is a true, uncovered trip and not a Q trip?

2. Is the trip truly the same trip length as depicted in icrew? Do NOT trust MiCrew. MiCrew often incorrectly depicts trip length for any trip that releases after midnight. Example: take an ATL-LGA-ATL turn that blocks in at 2345. Add the 30 minute post flight and the trip officially ends at 0015 the next day and will correctly be depicted in icrew as a 2-day. MiCrew however will show it as a 1 day. MiCrew will also incorrectly depict most red-eyes the same way. The only time micrew correctly depicts red-eye trip length is if the final leg departs after midnight local. For any red-eye that departs before midnight, MiCrew incorrectly displays the trip length as one day less than it is contractually.

I actually submitted an FCR about this. Corporate spin reply, so don't expect any programming correction any time soon.

Contract 23.V.5b.
”Exception: A swap or X-day move request will not be granted if, on a day to be dropped falls within the Christmas Day or Thanksgiving Day holiday period as described in 23.I.10.a, A (Available) is less than or equal to R (Required).”

Trip starts on 02JAN (one day after New Years Day) 23.I.0.a. strikes again. Double reference to get to the restriction, Thanks. 23.I.10.a. only refers to drops... Until 23.V.5.b. says not so fast. I thought I knew the contract. Sucks for me but once again proves the value of APC crowd sourcing!
