Reviving this thread again. I've read through the handbook and PWA, and I'm certain I used to know this but have forgotten...

How does the reserve coverage formula work for a straight PD? Cumulative, or day-by-day?

For a straight drop every day you want to drop of your trip or reserve stretch must be blue (positive coverage).

That's what I thought/was afraid of . Thanks for the reply.

IVD or APD is the only workaround if the days are black.

Unless you're on reserve. X-day moves can work, provided you find days that are staffed even horribly.* (Must of course honor X day groupings within 3-99-5, etc.)

True, but he was specifically asking about a straight drop. You can do the same “worse day” swap with trips as well.

Ah. Reading is hard for me.

Recently told by a scheduler nope to swaps with worse coverage. Ace filed. Beware the shenanigans continue.

I mean it’s a fully automated process. There is no input from scheduling on a PCS swap with pot. Most likely the numbers just didn’t work right during the PCS run if it didn’t go through.

X day move but I can’t see the internals during the run. Before and after it was a lower coverage day. Called for an explanation and that’s the answer I got.

This used to infuriate me. Coverage good before and after run yet denied. They say it drops during run. I never bought that excuse.
