Default Capped Res Days

Can someone please explain why I can not swap a 4 day with a 3 day and 1 day due to capped res days?

Our QOL items desperately needs to be addressed with items like this.

23.V.5.b will probably answer your question. Christmas and Thanksgiving have special carveout for swaps.

not sure if I can correlate the two. Cause the example shows different days, where mine is same exact days.

I think something is messed up for December in PCS because I keep getting capped reserve days as a reason when the days are above coverage.

I think the exception is what is getting you. It won’t allow the swap because you can’t have any day on your original trip where Available is less than Required. I think it is BS when your pickup covers the exact same day.

Yes. All correct and total bs. Four day swap. 2 days were at mins. Those 2 days were being covered by trip I wanted to swap into. Yet couldn’t due to that rule. This needs to change.

I recommend an email to the scheduling committee. Swaps are completely automated per the contract. About once a year there's a similar complaint to yours. EVERY time, without exception, it turns out there's more to the story and the swap denial was appropriate. The numbers were misinterpreted, the trip the guy is trying to swap into is a Q trip, not a true uncovered trip, the "4 day" ended with a red-eye and was actually a 5 day, etc etc.

That doesn't mean that mistakes aren't possible, just that the contract allows for same day for same day swaps, regardless of numbers.

This seems like one of those things we could fix with an LOA. I can't see it costing the company anything.
