When he saw it was likely we would reach his first guess, he confirmed upping his estimate to encourage higher vaccination rates.
The mask shortage was caused by Chinese buyers, Fauci's lies made zero sense at the time. Masks were gone from my area by mid January 2020, as the local big box stores here, shipped them all to overseas buyers. Healthcare companies could have sourced PPE from additional American manufacturers during this time, but chose not to, due to cost. There was never a shortage of reusable respirators at any point in this pandemic either.

Yes, the “big box” stores sent the masks to China...

So the government owned all these supplies that individual companies decided to send to China? The article doesn't really align with the Woodward phone call that the WaPo had a huge hard-on for in October. Early in the pandemic it wasn't the WhiteHouse making these types of decisions anyway, it was all in the hands of bureaucrats like Fauci and Birx. All of their recommendations were implemented, remember 15 days to stop the spread? Remember GM making ventilators?

He gets his medical advice from that guy with the bear skin hat with horns. Wear a mask and get a vaccine, the planes will be filled, profit sharing will return.

Yep, they drove up the price of PPE, then scammed taxpayers.

Fauci and Birx, practically wrote up the sale of PPE to China when they said "masks aren't necessary". Did they get a commission on the sale to China and a profit sharing bonus on the higher priced US sales?

Fauci either lied about masks to protect supply, failing to realize it gave manufactures the green light to sell their supplies overseas OR he was completely wrong about the masks to begin with. Either way this one lies at his feet. Bad orange man probably did more to protect the domestic supply of masks by not wearing one, thereby eliminating panic buying from the deplorable 49% of the population who voted for him.

It's logic and rational thought that is difficult to follow unless fully retarded. It's also quite entertaining throwing grenades in a pointless derailed thread.

Just in case I wasn't clear, Fauci told us not to wear masks out of concern for idiots hoarding them. He explains this clearly at 1:45 into the interview if you are not patient enough for a full 3:00.

Why Weren't We Wearing Masks From the Beginning? Dr. Anthony Fauci Explains - Bing video

If you are in the business of selling masks and the leading health professional in the country said, "we don't need to wear them" would you?

A. Keep your product in the warehouse, because you think the most knowledgeable, trustworthy infectious disease professional was was lying to manipulate the general population.

OR

B. Believe the Dr. was telling the truth and sell your masks to those suckers in other countries who were paying top dollar for masks they didn't need.

My guess is that a business professional acting in the best interest of his employees and the owners would believe the Dr and sell the masks...

Now that he has come on record admitting the reason for the flip/flop, is it any wonder his credibility is in question? He further damages his credibility by moving the goal posts on herd immunity.
Fauci: COVID herd immunity requires 90% to be infected or vaccinated (nypost.com)

Never go full retard, think for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

Q4 earnings report out. Cash burn still reported at >$10 million/day, which will continue through March. Still have $18-$19 billion in liquidity. Hoping for a profit by the end of the year (presumably the last quarter 2021, not the year overall?)

I'm no expert at reading earnings reports, but I think it's fair to say that all airlines are going to sink or swim based on how quickly and how effective the country, and the world, get vaccinated. Here's to hoping for no hiccups in production, distribution, application, or anti-vaxxers in significant numbers (of whom I'm generally inclined to be sympathetic towards for various reasons).

NYT reporting about 10 million vaccinated (1st shot) in the US, which is about 50% below what was targeted to be completed by now. Color me "not surprised", but the US seems to be doing fairly well when compared to other nations.
