30 Million Americans Vaccinated In 25 Days

I do not disagree.
HOWEVER
Drs. Fauci and Adams are not blameless on mask messaging to the public. BOTH told the public “there’s no need to wear a mask if you aren’t sick”. The message changed months later, ostensibly due to “new science” but Fauci said in the media the initial statement was made to prevent a run on scarce PPE by the general public.
That was an admission of something known as “a lie”.
It was a conscious decision on their parts to lie to the American public, and ABSOLUTELY contributed to some people questioning the credibility of public health officials/statements to this very day.
And yes, whenever and why-ever the message changed on masks, it would have been very helpful for Trump to embrace them as simple mitigation to keep the economy open.

We’re told getting vaccinated doesn’t keep you from spreading it, only from getting infected yourself, just like having the antibodies may not keep you from being a carrier. I’d say people who feel they’re at risk should take responsibility and get vaccinated and take precautions, and not fall into the trap of depending on someone else’s actions keeping them safe.

Since you like to joust at windmills....if they don’t KNOW if being vaccinated prevents the spread, is it reasonable that they don’t KNOW what the long term effects might be if one gets the vaccine? KNOWING what the future holds isn’t ‘knowing”, it is a best guess with percentages of probabilities as to being correct. It seems reasonable that some might have a “concern” as to what that percentage might be and aren’t willing to take that risk(especially if they have the antibodies)

Early last summer the administration decided their strategy to win in Nov was to stop talking about the pandemic, minimize testing, get the economy back going, etc. They didn’t explicitly tell Fauci this (or any other agencies or the public for that matter) but they wanted him to change his tune or, very least, shut up. But he wouldn’t so the objective was to lower his public approval rating enough so they could fire him (firing someone popular doesn't help). The campaign obviously failed but damage was done.
The 80 year old lifelong public servant has absolutely no logical reason to lie about anything. He could’ve retired years ago with a fat pension and still worked a side gig on some board. Is he perfect? Of course not.

Of course, he explains it away as “changing knowledge”...but why not recommend cloth masks in March and April? What would the downside of that have been? After all, improvised masks were widely used during 1918 H1N1 to mitigate droplets and materials were a LOT better a century later.

As Fauci said in the 1 April CBS
Video, “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.”
To be clear, I have a very high opinion of Dr. Fauci...just wish he would own his decision to purposefully mislead the public on masks in an effort to secure scarce supplies for health professions, and the corresponding impact of that decision on public confidence in facial covering guidance.

So.... Follow the logic on this idea.
IF you are healthy and would rather risk the illness than get vaccinated, you are actually doing a service to society. As a vaccinated person, you could be spreading it without knowing you are a carrier. If you aren't vaccinated, you would know you have the illness and could take precautions to prevent transmission.
Argue amongst yourselves and please include Dr (Mrs) Phins in the debate.

It moved through our household as well as many of our friends without incident and we’re glad it’s past.

What should have happened is Trump should’ve fired Fauci early last summer and installed a Scott Atlas type to mesh with his true natural herd immunity policy. Having said all this, if Fauci’s approval with the public does (or has?) actually dropped off, then he should be replaced.
Interesting mask article btw - history repeats
