He probably died before direct deposit was invented. His last name rhymed with Porky I believe

Thats the guy! Always great entertainment when you flew with him. Interesting discussions on how many thousands of rounds of various caliber ammo he should stock. He really struggled with the dilemma of stocking 223 verses 308. He preferred 308 but had room for more 223! He had what I can only call a interesting landing technique. Never knew him to give FO’s a hard time but there was another Captain who gave everyone a hard time in the category and many FO’s just refused to be the pilot flying on legs with him. He had his own special rules on flap extension so they would not shake the aircraft but would throw the gear down at 10,000 feet and 250 knots. One guy was great fun to fly with but if you touched the power on the 727 after pulling to it idle at TOD prior to touchdown he considered you very inferior in pilot skills! Yet another Captain would argue with the dispatcher to reduce the fuel load every leg and would shut down all the engines and coast into a the gate to save gas. He also made the engineer stick the aircraft on many legs because he was convinced all the gauges read low and more fuel was available. It was certainly a interesting category at the time!
I did not even mention the guy who took his dogs with him to the layover because he was on the 737.

You already got vaccinated? Are you NYC based or are guys in other states actually getting it?

Might be in the guard or reserves. They have been getting the shots for several weeks.

The encounter was fairly heated, and again, I just watched this and felt badly for those involved--- but was not involved myself. OOfff then insults me. Real nice.

There was a guy out there (RIP) that was deaf as a post and would always turn the overhead speaker up so loud that it hurt MY ears in the back. He had a 'French' name, and I saw him read the riot act to an FO in the middle of Stapleton over the fact that he (the FO) was a fighter guy and didn't know shiite about what real flying was like he did. He was one of those PFEs that came from Northeast and had a chip on his shoulder about having to work his way up. Complained endlessly about Delta, but was one of the highest paid pilots in the company. Got caught up in the tax scandle in Park City. I will give him this though.. he had a PO Box in Evanston and actually went up there once a week to buy his groceries and get his mail. Great guy on a layover, but a complete d!ck in the cockpit. I think he's the one you are talking about having the flap rules. I watched him do that going into MSO and we couldn't see the runway going straight in because the nose was so high...

Good times.
