BOS and a Florida base, we need to have flexibility between corporate and leisure travel.
I’m all in on a Miami base.

MIA, FLL, MCO...I’m all in for any of them. But...I wish MCO better, but I won’t mind driving 3hrs to work vs flying to Ny.

AUS is exploding right now. The Oracle and Tesla moves with some other less publicized ones are making a crazy real estate market even crazier. Would not be surprised at all in the next 5 years or so to see it as even more than a focus city.

Personally, I’d prefer an RSW base. But if we were to open an actual pilot base in FL, MCO would make the most sense. It’s the least affected by snow birds. During the good times (PC), the time of year didn’t matter. Everything was full, every flight, to and from MCO. Now, if LATAM survives, and our codeshare survives their BK, then a MIA base might make more sense, if we get some of the AA/LATAM flights that had been operated by AA. But if their Codeshare police were anything like our codeshare police, all the flights were operated by LATAM, and unlikely to change hands anytime soon.

PC = Pre-Covid

I agree, but with a JV isn’t supposed to be shared flights?

I think at one point I saw that the focus was going to be Mia and Mco. LaTam doing the heavy international lifting and Delta the domestic flying. Sad that Covid didn’t helped us, but I’m hopeful that we will get there eventually.

The details of the codeshare have not been publicized, however the previous announcements indicated the B6/AA codeshare is limited to BOS/NYC markets. Therefore the B6 RDU route expansions are not "replacing" AA any more than they're "replacing" DL.

And now to opinion: if the past is any indication, AA/DL sharing dominance at RDU may not come back. During the last downturn, AA scaled back significantly at SJU and in the Caribbean. Now B6 has a significant presence there to this day and is by far the largest carrier at SJU.

I didn’t realize that’s how B6’ presence in SJU came to be. This will be interesting to watch post pandemic.

Is JetBlue doing those inter island routes that Eagle ATRs used to do back in the day?
