Approve our bill to cure cancer...plus funding for Squirrel mating research in Canada...if you vote no you’re evil and like cancer.
Foreign aid has been flowing for decades. It's nothing new, even under Trump.

Or the headline "United States once again has priorities screwed up...sending money needed for its citizens, abroad"

I like Trump. But this isn’t about him. This is about a cheap way to get what you want. Leadership in Congress is nonexistent, that’s what truly is nothing new.

I don't disagree with that. But the way that money has been portrayed is way off base. It's not some easter egg that was thrown in when they thought no one was looking. It's primarily military aid that has been a part of our country's budget for decades.

It may very well be insane, but it's par for the course in our country. I dunno, maybe it's the same insanity everywhere. If you want the average Joe to actually do research or pay attention, you have to post stuff on Tinder, Tiktok and possibly PornHub. I've personally lost much of my faith in humanity in the last few years. Won't be surprised if we completely implode over the next decade.

A question is “what is reasonable?” As pilots we do have a lot of down time that can be blocked together, so yes some research time can be allotted. However, if you were to research every issue on every topic, you might as well change occupations. This is where our media has failed us, Joe Blow doesn’t have the time to work a 40hr week, spend time with the family, maybe mess around a little with his hobby. Then on Sunday night say “ Oh ******, I got to research the COVID-Omnibus bill!” The true failure has been the media, get them back doing their jobs. Everything else should fall back into place.

There is no doubt that a larger discussion could be had on ear marks and inclusions in bills to be sure. But Trumps problem isn't just with the stimulus not being enough (which I agree with). He seems to incorrectly have a problem with the government spending bill items that have nothing to do with the Covid relief bill. Basically only the countries that he doesn't like or S-Hole countries as it were in his mind. It could definitely be argued that giving Cambodia 25 million is more than worth it if it were a rebuke to Chinese influence in that county as one example. Not to mention that 25 million is absolute pennies for the US government in the larger context. Remember that democrats wanted MORE money to the tune of 3 trillion more in stimulus to include $2000 for people AND the extension of the $600 unemployment boost. The so called "pork" that people had a problem with were things like money for States and local governments who serve ALL citizens in their states. Back in May and even now have said they are more than willing to write in the $2000 that Trump wants. But yes i can definitely agree that $600 after months and months of gridlock is absolutely pathetic. I do think that he will be overridden on this one. House votes on Monday and Senate on Tuesday. We will see what happens.

That’s the override for the defense bill. This will unfortunately be a pocket veto if he doesn’t sign the bill and it will be trashed because the new congress begins 1/3/2021, starting the whole process again. Thousands of gov employees will be furloughed and millions will have no unemployment and possibly homeless.
