Captain BP email thread.
How about that memo from BP. If you haven't seen it, I'll paraphrase "screw your contract, we're going with our interpretation, goodluck with the resolution process." I didn't think it was possible, but these guys seem to have gone even further out of their way to drive a wedge between the company and the pilots. Lol and we have guys worried about their choir boy status wrt sick leave.

case and point; it literally costs them nothing to allow us to use the crew rest facilities on the 767, yet they have such utter contempt for us they are making us take it to a grievance to allow us to use this as permitted by our contract.

yeah, I’m case it was crystal clear to everyone already…EB hates pilots and this management team wants labor unrest with us to dissuade the non cons from unionizing.

Regarding "proof" of covid tests... Delta Pilot Interviewees were (are?) required to show "proof " of a negative Covid test at the interview. "At-home tests are acceptable and do not need to be proctored.", the guidance said. It was explicitly stated in email that a photo of your "official results" would serve as that "proof." For myself and many(most?) others, a picture of an at-home test is exactly what was provided (and accepted) at the interview.

this reminds me of something that was in one of the NYC union updates. Apparently one of the NYC CPs was telling new hires they still were required to have a backup flight during LOA 20-04 because a backup flight was still required by the FOM and the FOM supersedes the CBA.

I'm honestly so disappointed at the management style here. I thought covid and JL was hopefully just a blip, but they've just doubled down over and over again. I have no faith management has my back here. And I will not do ANYTHING more than required by the contract and the FOM to help Delta.

Unbelievable. We will positive space you home after a reroute but you have to wait 12 hours. Or if flights are full then you can wait a few days even if your originally scheduled commuter flight was wide open. Gee, thanks. They bump passengers all the time when needed. What is the point then? If there are seats then we don’t positive space. Their position on this is preposterous. We should have gotten better language.

As for the rest, the creative interpretations are preposterous. Crew meals? That''s an extremely large jump to say that it's FDP vs Block, and not the clear intent of the exemption that one meal will count as one of the two meals. Jumpseat? They may not be wrong that the FOM says jumpseaters must use a "pilot" crew rest, but the the FOM also defines rest areas, which he references, and there is no difference there of FA vs pilot. Where is he pulling this "i.e., pilot" part from?
The PS after reroute though...as much as it pains me, that one lies squarely in "we didn't think they would do that!" territory. Should've seen that one coming. I just hope the negotiation notes are on our side there.

Management here is extremely arrogant and believes that they will win all of this. We need an MEC that will consistently fight them tooth and nail to defend every section of our contract.
