I’m kind of surprised this wasn’t talked about yet.

Results were pretty much in line with consensus. I would say that the interesting takeaway is still having a forecast of cash burn through Q1.

They have been telegraphing the numbers that matter. Everything seems in line with the 8K released at the announcement. The real details are coming in the 10K. I'm curious how much was lost on foreign subsidiaries that went bankrupt.

How many have gone BK? LATAM is the only one I’m aware of. And I haven’t heard that we lost any of our investment. As long as they remain viable, I would imagine they are going to need us during the recovery. And they probably still want us to take the remaining A350’s so they’ll need to play nice.

LATAM and AeroMexico on this side of the ocean.

Virgin Atlantic went into the UK version called “administration” I’m not up to snuf on how the Brits do it, but my understanding is Delta had to dump money into VS just keep a seat at the table.

Edit: Virgin also filed bankruptcy in the US in August to protect its US assets and deal with creditors on this side of the pond.

Thanks, I didn’t realize it went that deep. (That’s what she said)

After scanning through those articles, it makes me realize how bad things could have been had the Government not helped. Things could have been worse than the first few years after 9/11.

This was totally self induced. Now ,not only is a huge segment of our total economy a wasteland, but people like you thank the .gov for salvation in Oliver Twist-ish fashion. We are truly on the road to serfdom.

Eric Hoffer was famous for the quote "what starts out here as a mass movement ends up as a racket, a cult, or a corporation."

The Covid response has elements of all three.

Lots of time, money, and energy is heavily invested in "big-COVID" right now, and I don't see it going away anytime soon. Despite literally trillions of dollars of damage done to the global economy, so many people are invested in "their" take on Covid, it's gone well beyond rational analysis and measured responses.

That's a fairly accurate analysis.
