Yes please! I'll actually fly more than one leg too.

So that’s how they get everybody to bid the 220!

Make it a “pilot convenience fee” and charge them upfront.

It’s for the convenience of having pilots, if your flight doesn’t have pilots then you get a refund!

It boggles my mind how much energy and time pilots waste discussing tips. Sure, some van drivers are paid a salary, and tips are not expected, but honestly who has the time to do all this research? You are literally complaining about pocket change. You will live longer and be happier if you can remove that stress from your life. The medical bills for your high blood pressure brought on by extreme cheapness will cancel out the money you saved by not tipping.

Do you calculate the cost of living adjustments for your overnights? $15 where you live might be more like $9 at your overnight.

Do you know which ones? Do you look that up too?

Personally, I'd rather see a captain tip the van driver than buy me a coffee or a few beers. It's embarrassing and ruins our reputation. A van driver that looks forward to picking up Delta crews is well worth the $2 (or $1 if you insist). They are more likely to provide us with good restaurants in the area and are more likely to offer up van service to that restaurant.

Confirming other rumors, words from one of the fleet captains, Delta expects “new hires” by the end of 2021. Affected pilots will all be back prior to that.

Then they better start training yesterday!!! Hope this is true, but seems impossible.

I also think it seems impossible. YMMV. I’ll believe it when I see it.

I heard this rumor today as well. There is a townhall Tuesday with BS and others in the training department. Hopefully some good information comes out of that.

Has anyone heard whether we will be getting a 3rd 220 sim? I remember reading they were talking about having a 3rd sim up and running by this summer and I see on the sim schedule they have a 3rd sim outside of the JB one so curious if anyone in the training has seen anything to indicate a 3rd sim is on the way.

Circling back to this, NO! If you haven’t started to train before the next AE to bring back another 400+ AP’s, you could lose what you successfully bid on this last AE to a more senior pilot, one who bypassed and stayed an AP. That’s all.

If you got a seat, you are back, but that seat could theoretically change... Besides, let’s hope the above rumors of New Hires is true, where this is a moot point anyway.
