It’s going to be madness. One time payments for all the 4th floor!

Very few people senior to the affected pilots will have been locked out of any of those positions, so other than a select few categories (SEA 73N, ATL 320, etc) I think positions will be available all over. That means that even though the 1700 (minus any of those who have started training) will be bidding behind all active pilots basically they be bidding in seniority order with the outcome extremely similar to if the AE had been processed with the entire pilot group together.

In other words, the processing will be Active, then affected, but the results will be nearly the same no matter how it's run.
Why would there not be positions open in these categories? The last AE was only 400 pilots and it had open spots in basically every narrow body category. There will almost certainly be published open spots in both of those categories and all narrow body categories.

I've been laughing for quite a while....me and my buddies keep showing up on the RAL, but we are NQAT....some of us for months. I've lost track of how many SC's I've been assigned.

I didn’t mean there wouldn’t be positions posted in those categories, just that they may be all taken by active pilots and thus very few if any will be left for affected pilots. My post was directly referencing only what would be available to affected pilots by the time AE processing reached their level.

I think what I'm gathering from all this is no one knows what's gonna happen with this upcoming AE. Brings to mind a certain meme from the show Ozark

Latest update from Dr. Scott Gottlieb is there will be enough vaccine for anyone to get a shot in April. So it's looking like late April to May will be when airline pax numbers explodes. Fall should be a complete return to Normalcy domestically.

As long as there is somewhere to go besides Florida (it’s full now) I agree.
