Grad level Payback Day question
Wondering if anyone has tried this or know if its allowed?
Would like to PD (personnel drop) a two day trip that has high value on day one, but instead of filling out the Payback Day Request Form using a SUPP Day from 2020 right away for day one only, I'm wondering if I could white slip this same trip 2 or 3 times during each PCS run first before using my 2-3 Payback days for day one only of the PD trip. First one has to assume they have the seniority to white slip the trip back each time. Since ones MAX P/U would decrease by the same amount of the PD, they could keep doing this during each PCS run with out exceeding the max pick up limit.. Then after doing this as many times as they have Payback Days, fill out the Payback Day Request Form on DeltaNet and use one payback day only for the first day of each (same trip) that one PD and white slipped back during the PCS runs. If I filled out the Payback Day Request Form right away and they processed it, my max pick up would be exceeded if I tried to W/S it back. That is the reason to delay submitting the form. Possible or has someone else learned its not? |
If it's a two day trip it will take two pb days when dropped You can't just use one payback day unless its just a day trip

If you're referring to scheduling alert 20-25, then I would just try it. The resulting knowledge would be worth a lot. The computer doesn't care as long as the keys fit the locks. Let us know. I don' t have any PB days but if I did, I'd try it just to see. It automatically uses as many PB days as the trip or all PB days if not enough are available. The request is to limit the number starting with day 1. The request form just prevents a phone call to scheduling. The intervention to limit PB days is still manually done by a scheduler. My take away was to use PB days and then limit them to 1 when the day 1 credit was high.

Might this situation (high time first day of a trip) be a good use of a IVD, assuming that one has some vacation days remaining?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Ivd only pays the value of a vacation day, not the trip dropped. |
I would call CS after each drop and tell them you want to use one payback/sup day to cover first day of trip.
