Very easy and quick read about how and why command and control economics and well intended policy planners always fail in the long run (and some in the short run). If that thin and easy to read book is too much, just google the "cobra effect" then extrapolate that downline into the real world always applying Murphy's Law.

If you found the book worth the read, I'd suggest reading: https://cdn.mises.org/Fiat%20Money%2...20France_2.pdf
Despite being old and dealing in the usually dry subject of upstream economics, it reads like its ripped from today's headlines in a way that's almost fascinating.
History repeats and we little monkeys can't help but play with the grenade. One day we'll learn...maybe

Anyone who says timing isn’t important accepts marginal returns

The big picture is realizing Growth's run is over, rotate out of ARKK, TSLA and other high growth names and into Value. ARKK has high ownership in alot of illiquid names. Cathy will still be wealthy but ARKK investors are likely to get taken to the cleaners (Permanent Loss of Capital). Know your history or be doomed to repeat it.

And I'm paying for it dearly as someone who was very bullish on Roku. Granted I'm in it for the long run, but just look at a 6 month Roku chart and ARK. Almost identical. Tesla at least has had more steam than ARK and Roku.

CATHIE not Cathy keeps buying the dips of some stocks that are being absolutely destroyed right now. Take a look at $BNGO and $DDD (both down 66% from highs). I receive an email of ARK’s buys and sells everyday for curiosity purposes. She buys more peloton a week ago after it “dips” claiming bullish outlook, then yesterday it pulls back another 15%!. It’s getting ugly out there for her.

I'm sure she wouldn't have invested in PTON knowing they were going to recall all their treadmills. Granted I bet a lot of people buy the dip on that. She just pulled the trigger too soon, which hindsight is always 20:20 isn't it?

FWIW I think there are some real bargains out there. And someone will of course argue the market valuations don't make sense, it's all fake, none of this adds up, big correction etc etc etc. Fundamentals of the old days are gone. Cathie probably doesn't like seeing what's happening but I'm sure she's not panicking like the internet assumes.
