It's 5 O'clock somewhere. Have you seen how energy equities have performed?

Meanwhile Bitcoin, hailed by some as the next inflation hedge, or an alternative asset better than gold, is being taken out back and shot

Trip thinks high energy equity prices are good for the airline industry. He forgets planes have to burn fuel. The Feds backed themselves into a corner. We are entering a multi-year deep recession. Taxes will also go up and government spending needs to drop or inflation will go to 20%. The question is not how big of a AE are we going to get but will we need to furlough.

Your thesis is all over the place. When did I say high energy equity prices are good for the airline industry? Then you go on to some doomsday Macro scenario. Macro is very difficult to predict. I focus on individual companies that trade at attractive valuations relative to their cashflows. Many energy companies fit that bill.

This is all ‘go ugly early.’ Markets will be back up by this fall, just in time for the election. looks like a nice buying opportunity out there.

how’s that for a contrarian perspective!

Try investing for cash flow in a corner of your portfolio. Stay out of the storm of falling rocks then walk in afterwards to pick up the nuggets of gold.

Not directed at you, just general area fire...
I'm amazed by the complaining over loss of pensions, while investing for gains instead of cash flow. Funding retirement requires predictable cash flow, not building the biggest pile. Quit the beyotching and create a personal pension out of dividends, rents and royalties.

That is what my financial investment firm says. As we approach midterms, it will narrow what the current party in full control can do. With one party taking over the House, and possibly the Senate, gridlock will prevail. We maybe entering a recession, but the federal government cannot get much controversial done when neither party is in control of everything. That is good for stocks, that is good for crypto, that is good for the economy. Or it is at least better than it is now. Anything better will cause these to go up, “less bad” is positive.
