What’s up with the 11 A220s still sitting in San Bernardino? I realize it was a junior fleet for FOs and it got hit hard with so many junior pilots sitting on the sidelines in 2020.
With airlines like SWA, JB and even United filling leisure-oriented gaps on the map with extra capacity, shouldn’t Delta be looking for places to put these idle A220s? Are they having problems training returning FOs? Why not make an ATL base for the A220 to make it more attractive to junior pilots in the area?
Seems stupid that a decent portion of the most fuel efficient fleet is sitting idle while the other legacies are expanding. Sorry for the rant!!!!

Just because they’re on reserve doesn’t mean they’re current and qualified...

if only they had not tried to play chicken with the union, they might be better off. oh well, I’m sure they are better off running thousands of training events and being in an awful spot for a rapid recovery. ya know, optics and all.
