I don't see it as any change to our current policy.

FA on the flight deck for the break, if center can't understand me - mask comes off. Flight safety trumps all. Aviate, navigate, communicate. Right?

I'd think several thousand FCR's submitted (IF NECESSARY) every time this policy wasn't followed to the absolute letter, and why, would quickly lend itself to additional clarifications.

But only if necessary. I'm 100% committed to following company directives while also exercising judgement for safe practice.

This isn’t much different than the memo they put out 2-3 months back. It’s gotta be worn for everything except briefings and blah blah blah.

I have yet to see another pilot wear it from door closed to door open, myself included. Is TSA gonna pull you over at 30,000 feet and take your KCM away? GMAFB.

Color me shocked. You mean as more and more of the population gets this and survives, combined with vaccinations cases are down?!?

This entire thing is a sham. I get it, it kills people and it’s a real virus. Not a global alliance to get Trump out of office. It’s all about control at the government level IMO.

I’m no doctor, but I don’t know how an anal swab detects a respiratory illness. Have at it China.

Next up...we will all have to put a butt plug in so that we aren’t farting COVID all over each other.

Oh. And remember don’t have a furrowed brow and look like you know where you’re going walking through the terminal. Also, make sure that you make a PA about our HEPA filters as a plane full of people breathes stagnant cabin air while the pilots all refuse to run an APU to run said air through the HEPA filters.... because apparently when it comes to “safe” air to breathe, saving APU run times and fuel is more important.

The problem isn't really the company memo, because they are merely regurgitating what the TSA put out. It's the TSA that is the real problem, now that they have the power to enforce this in airports. It's the TSA directive that states that "Prolonged periods of mask removal are not permitted for eating or drinking; the mask must be worn between bites and sips." We all know how ridiculous TSA can be, and now they have the power to determine the definition of "prolonged". Good luck trying to defend yourself against fines or other punishment if some TSA agent decides you waited too long to replace your mask after that big bite of a juicy hamburger sitting all by yourself in a corner 30+ feet away from another person.
