Working a GS on an x day doesn't even always get you a full PB day. You'll get a partial day and start the next RES day later in the day. The whole thing, like so much of the contract, is overly convoluted and confusing.

The key is to remember you get 9 hours free of duty (or 13 after and ocean crossing) and then start the timer on the PB days. Every X day that was touched nets you a 24 hour period. So flying on one X day gets you 33 (37) hours off.

This isn't true.

Happened to me and I queried CS and ALPA and both told me I dont get the full day.

someone told you wrong then. Go read PWA 23 S 9. Been Ops checked many times by me.

Perhaps it was a GS not on a x day. Those are possible with less than 12 hours of notification.

As Rooster435 said, they are wrong and Iceberg is right. Look at Contract Section 23.S.9 and 10. It’s spelled out there pretty clearly.

It is correct that a single day GS will get you 33 hours off, but if you return early those hours are on the original x day. A single day trip ending at noon puts you back on call at 9pm the next day. Your schedule will only show a PR and no full PB.

I think you guys are using two different definitions of the term "day". One is an actual calendar day, midnight to midnight, and another is any consecutive 24 hour period.

That would be great for most once a monthers. But it would absolutely kill rolling thunder which would result in much fewer GS total, including less once a monthers.

I think the bigger point is that no one has either option right now. It's either forced on your next RES day or forced into the bank.
