Since you asked me to source my information, I'll ask the same.

BTW the original memo is still available in his news feed. Right next to the link asking us to take unpaid PLOAs.

“Merit adjustment payment”. Nice spin. Hope the PR team got some of that bonus.

Yes it is possible. The current FAA Administrator was SVP of ops for many years at Delta and started as a line pilot. JL is the first non pilot in that position that I can remember.

Me too.

I have an MBA from Univ of Chicago (Booth) courtesy of uncle sam and the US Taxpayer (much appreciated BTW).

Yet here I am - an lowly line swine. AUP09 thinks we don't know anything.

You guys/gals on the line are some of the most intelligent, perceptive folks I've ever been around. If we could harness that power - say in a union - that would be killer and we'd be running the best operation evah.

Yet here we are. Debating about semantics and the lexicon used in a memo/blog/communique Terrific.

Lends me to think, what are they up to behind the scenes after chucking this distraction our way.

Shhhhh. Don't tell AUP09 that.

No bonuses/compensation/payments/exchanges were meted out. Nothing to see here.

Was he ever really a line pilot? Someone told me he had less than 2000 total flight hours here when he went to FAA. We know it's possible to go through ALPA to management positions.

I'm waiting for the next memo that outlines how many of the recipients were "persons of color."

Would that be another metric that would give you “pride in your employer”?
