As awesome as the reparations thread is, thought Iíd get some info from any SUV owners out there. Just found out the wife is pregnant with baby number 4! Been researching SUVs, that and getting snipped of course .

In-laws donít drive so need something that will seat 8. Heard good things about the Kia Telluride but never owned a Kia before. Anybody own a GMC Yukon? Like how it looks, but wonder about mx costs. Escalades look nice but a bit pricey. Wish the Model X sat 8 or Iíd probably just get a used one of those. Appreciate any advice!

Check your ego at the door of the nearest Honda/Toyota dealership and get a mini van. The driver controlled sliding doors reduce the stress level by a factor of 10 when loading and unloading kids. If you go the jumbo SUV route, be sure the test drive includes parking at one or two of your (or your wife's) favorite stores. Costco doesn't count, because they have smart site planners.

If your looking at the KiaTelluride, check out the Hyundai Palisade. Both Kia and Hyundai are owned by Hyundai. We're looking at getting the Palisade next month, has everything thr Telluride has but with out the markup that the Telluride has on it at the moment.

Congratulations! I came from a 2003 Chevy Suburban and traded her in for a Honda when the youngest was born. Best decision I ever made. Go out and buy a 2022 Honda Odyssey and never look back. Iíve returned to a cool vehicle but still miss that thing, a great resale value also!

Ford Expedition Max (or EL, the older version). Sits 8, and retains the cargo capacity; similar to Chevy Suburban. Kids have friends.

Telluride looks 10x better. Especially in Nightfall Edition hence why they are in higher demand than the Palisade. I may be biased since I'm getting one next month. The Telly has also won numerous awards for the best 3-row mid-size SUV of the year across many sources. Most don't know that this but this thing is being assembled at the Kia Motors Manufacturing in West Point, GA.

Find a dealer with no markup. There's a few in AZ, CO and TX who are selling at MSRP and will ship nationwide. I placed an order 2 months ago for a brand new Telluride at MSRP. Picking it up in CO next month and I live in SoCal.

Chevy Suburban. Theyíve been in production since 1935, the longest continuously produced vehicle in US history. Anything else is a knock off.

Default Snip it

I just did research regarding seating for seven. After quite an extended period of time I learned that the Chevy Traverse was the only true fit besides a minivan. A minivan is the actual winner in the need to seat seven to eight. The Traverse has more interior space than the more manly Tahoe. Speaking of manly, I couldnít bring myself to drive a minivan, so Traverse it is! By the way, the snip is no big deal.

You want a SwaggerWagon, not a 3 row SUV.

Love our Sienna, and you can get it in AWD if thatís important to you.

It depends on how often you need to seat 8, how big those 8 people are, and how much cargo space you need. Third row seats on all of the pilot/telluride size SUVs are just ok. 3 adults donít really fit, and depending on the type of car seats 3 kids might not either. They also have very little space for cargo behind that third row. Minivans are better on the cargo, but have the same problem with the third row. If you really need space, your only options are the Tahoe/suburban/Escalade/Yukon or the expedition/navigator. The long wheelbase makes a big difference in comfort and space. They are huge cars and pricey, but donít force you to compromise on comfort. For reference we have 4 kids and 2 dogs, getting rid of our 10 year old odyssey and deciding between Yukon XL and Navigator L.
