That's more than United, American, and Alaska combined.

Yes, catering is a sh!t show. Don't expect it to improve today or tomorrow btw.

Our executive team is too busy being "woke" to run an efficient airline.
My one flight today went out on time guess I got lucky

This is going to be funny in a couple months when we don't say out loud "it turns out you can run an airline, or you can spend all day worrying about twitter trends, the CEO can't do both." but its clear old Bastion just goes back to running an airline.

The current issues we are facing are a result of the overly conservative moves to cut cost last spring and summer. I get it, at the time things looked pretty abysmal and no one knew how long it would be. Were they slow to spin things back up? For sure, but they stuck with the overly conservative liquidity preserving direction they had put in place already. The issues of pilot staffing are the same as the catering. They got rid of a huge number of people and now have to bring them back or replace them with new. Being “woke” has nothing to do with this, it’s just being used as an attack by those who don’t agree with the politics.

The problem is not agreeing or disagreeing with a CEOs politics. A CEO is there to run a company...not get involved in politics. If Ed has such a passion for politics then he should just go be a politician.

Instead we're wasting time and resources updating manuals so that they don't say he/she anymore, taking "ladies and gentlemen" out of announcements, buying thousands of BLM pins, and spending hundreds of man hours on social issue which have nothing to do with our business.

Good point... I imagine the people in charge of updating manuals are the same ones in charge of crew resources who happen to be the same ones in charge of the catering rollout. It’s too bad they spent all of the money on pins and didn’t save any to hire additional middle managers.

In defense of this woke stupidity, if it works it would be the cheapest marketing we've ever done. Its clearly not worked, the country is polarized so if you take one side you **** off the other, but if it had- boy would it be cheap marketing!

Delta knew when full catering started. If they couldn't handle it, then it should have been delayed until catering could be staffed properly. Pretty simple.

Seems like Harry Truman said, " The buck stops here". The phrase was popularized by U.S. President Harry S. Truman, who kept a sign with that phrase on his desk in the Oval Office. The phrase refers to the notion that the President has to make the decisions and accept the ultimate responsibility for those decisions.

So, Bastian wasn't the person who was provisioning the carts and loading them on board, but he is the man responsible for not ensuring the proper roll-out of an event that he had planned for. Consequently, I think a good argument can be made for ultimately pinning this on Bastian. Whaddya think?

Just because you believe in "wokeism" doesn't mean you can't find some fault with your woke brothers when it's appropriate.

Many of us made this point 7 months ago. We were excoriated by several of you.

Now our competition is walking away from us. Doesn't matter if we open middle seating to "flood capacity". Not a panacea as many of you have professed on these forums. Our brand is what sells our premium.. The brand is a chocolate mess.

Right now we suck. The customers know this; they are not happy. The wheel turns and it is going to run over us if we don't get our collective **** together. We are married to this beast, we'll be here for decades. Our management - not so much. It behooves us to raise the hand and tell the emperor he has no clothes.

Very telling we can't seem to figure out how to get catering to a jet. Gee, we were just doing this 8 months ago - whats the mystery?

But hey, at least we got those cool BLM pins to wear. SMDH.
