It sounds like the catering issue was with the contractor, who really failed. Over an hour late waiting for catering for a two hour flight, and they ended up giving everybody just the usual water bottle in a bag anyways.

But the 5K airmiles they added to my account certainly helped. Hoping this is just a one day event, because at this point if they can’t cater in time, people are used to getting no catering anyways.

Just realized day one of the return to catering was yesterday. They'll iron out the kinks.

I do it on purpose, bastion, guum, i forget the other guy guy now but i just hope, someday, someone fawning after him in print spells the name wrong because theyre too busy on here telling us how great he is.

He's actually much better at long range wx forecasts but i think college taught him that. He must have inklings of a job back on campus if he's back to sucking their teat again. Remember when he was gone and he came back suddenly one day not shilling for management? They must want him back for some busy work.

Status quo, even if excellent (service, on time etc.) doesn't move the needle. While there is a valid excuse, small failures allow for future celebration when they are corrected. As business travel returns and there is noticeable improvement, Delta will become the darling again. Same with the stock, a surprise beat is always better than status quo good performance.

Now we have some adversary to overcome. The grand performance of our management team to return Delta to the top of the heap "puff piece" writes itself.

I think the word minting is bothering you. Ignore it.

Delta is cashflow positive with middle seats blocked. That's a pretty incredible accomplishment in the current environment. Delta is beating AA while handicapped, will be interesting to see how our cashflow numbers compare against UAL

Blocking the middle seat is arguably what is allowing us to beat AA... not sure it’s a handicap, but of course it’s complicated. People have been paying significant premiums to have that empty seat next to them in SPITE of our lacking service and horrendous holiday performance.

I talked to one passenger who prefers our comfort plus with a blocked middle seat over our first class. I trust we’ll get service back in line and hopefully fix our reliability pronto, but if we don’t and also don’t have breathing room to offer in coach I think we’ll be in a world of hurt.
