Default Air France ZED? PPT?

Wondering if anyone has flown on Air France recently, specifically to Tahiti. After “we” bought 49% of Virgin, we can fly in their premium cabin, and I think it’s a flat rate rather than ZED…

Do we have a similar travel deal with Air France?

Will they seat you in a premium cabin, or stuck in the back?

VS is the only airline we have a premium cabin agreement with. I think we're one of the few airlines that doesn't do ZED premium, not sure why.

I'd expect main cabin for all others unfortunately.

Checking in with the crew (and chocolates) can help. Friend of mine does CDG a few times a year on AF (ZED) and has some success checking in politely yielding a move up.

Dressing right helps.

Some carriers have dress codes for ZED fares; a couple of years ago Aer Lingus wouldn’t let you ride if you showed up in slacks and a polo.

Once you get to PPT, check out some of the other islands too. I did a bareboat sail with some friends, it’s probably one the most beautiful places on earth. Air Tahiti Nui from the West Coast will get you there, and LATAM will get you there through South America. I took Lan Chile through Easter Island to Papeete, that was way cool.

What does Aer Lingus expect if slacks and a polo aren't good enough? Full suit and tie?

Yea I used to ZED on Aer Lingus all the time and I never ran into an issue wearing jeans and a collared shirt. 2010-2017 time frame.

I used to DH on them quite often a decade ago. Let’s just say at that time they made the US ULCC’s look good! It’s probably a better product now since they were bought by IAG.

Hmmm. My information must be dated then. It was told to me second hand by a pilot who was trying to get home and was denied.

Piqued my interest enough to actually look into a little bit. Some carriers actually do have guidelines; I imagine it's like everything else in clown world. To paraphrase:

The gate agent: no greater friend, no worse enemy.
